MASS MATTER was founded by Matt Gehm and John Milian in 2023.

Matt Gehm holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California and a graduate degree from Harvard University. He has worked for a number of renowned architecture firms including Gehry Partners, WTARCH, Certain Measures, and 4240 Architects. His expertise lies in digital computation and fabrication. In his free time, he likes to paint, golf, and hangout with his dog ‘Gouda’.

John Milian is a registered architect in the state of California. He holds an undergraduate degree from Savannah College of Art and Design and a graduate degree from the University of Southern California. He has worked for a number of renowned architecture firms including Gehry Partners, Neil M. Denari Architects, Marmol Radziner, and Vertebrae LA. Currently, John is an adjunct faculty at Woodbury University. John takes a holistic approach to architecture with the intent of creating the most well suited building for its users and surroundings. In his free time he likes to golf, watch the Dodgers, and explore galleries throughout Los Angeles.
